Time to Celebrate! It’s Nolan Painting’s 35th Anniversary
As 2014 draws to an end, we reflect on the year behind us and the gratitude we have for our clients, employees and supportive community. This year Nolan Painting is celebrating 35 years in business! While we are well known around the Main Line in Pennsylvania, our humble beginning is a story like no other. How we became the premier Philadelphia Main Line painting company started with a letter.
The letter was written by our president, Kevin Nolan, in 1979, to his at the time girlfriend, now wife. The letter was simply an idea, but the idea that has changed the face of the painting industry on the Philadelphia Main Line for the last 35 years. He wrote that he wanted to start a painting company. He needed to know she would be there to support him.
You see, family is a large part of the history and tradition of Nolan Painting. Not just the exceptional work of sons and daughters of our management team, or father and son painting crews, but showing employees and customers alike that tradition and hard work brings out the beauty of a lasting relationship.
Back in 1979, on that fateful day that Kevin delivered the letter; he knew that this was something he wanted to do. Nolan Painting would be built on a foundation of ethics, integrity and above all else, exceptional customer care.
Over the years, our business, not unlike others, has weathered the ups and downs of a changing market, more than one recession and other challenges. Even through these hard times, we’ve come out stronger for staying true to our promise, and we’ve be rewarded by our clients and our community.
In 2003, we were named “Small Business of the Year” by the Main Line Chamber of Commerce.
In 2004, Best Companies Group named our company the 2nd best place to work in Pennsylvania.
In 2005, The Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry bestowed upon us the Governor’s Award for Safety Excellence.
Most recently this year, our team was named by Houzz.com as the Best of Houzz 2014 in Customer Satisfaction.
As our community has taken the time to recognize our efforts, we too stay involved in the lives of members of our community. Through local events and annual efforts, we help focus on what’s important in the lives of our clients, neighbors, friends, and family.
Over the last 35 years, we’ve become more invested in the future of the residential painting industry. Kevin and his brother Brian have taken their knowledge and lent it to hundreds of businesses across the nation, creating a company known as Summit Services. Summit Services integrates the Nolan Promise we believe in while providing small businesses with the tools to achieve consistent results while increasing their bottom line.
As the years have passed, we’ve grown from a company of one individual to a business of over 100 employees. We’d like to take a moment to thank the most important person of all, you. Thank you for your business and believing in our promise. Here’s to another 35 years!
