The Importance of Giving Back to the Community

On April 12, 2017, Kevin Nolan, president and founder of Nolan Painting, Southeastern Pennsylvania’s largest family-owned residential painting company, addressed students at Penn State Brandywine as part of the school’s Civic and Community Engagement Social Justice Fair.  Mr. Nolan spoke on the importance of companies giving back to the communities where they do business.

“When a company gets involved in the community it contributes to a positive business culture, improves conditions in the area and leads to a sustained positive image for that company,” said Mr. Nolan. “Ultimately, that positivity helps the bottom line of the business because consumers are more likely to do business with companies that do good.”

Mr. Nolan cited his own company’s Nolan in the Neighborhood community program as an example of “doing well by doing good.” Nolan in the Neighborhood is a community initiative supporting customers’ causes in education, environmental initiatives, health/fitness causes and historical societies within the communities Nolan services.
