The Radnor Run is a five-mile timed running race and one-mile walk/fun run that supports the important work of the American Lung Association. The event typically raises $100,000/year and attracts about 800 participants. Nolan Painting has been a sponsor for 20 of the Run’s 40 years and Nolan’s Jon Meyer has served as course chairman in charge of all race details, including timing, logistics and safety. In 2012, Jon was named the American Lung Association’s National Volunteer of the Week.” For an organization as large as the ALA, this was quite an honor and one in which the Nolan team takes great pride.
WHO IT BENEFITS:
The American Lung Association has and will continue to play a critical role in the advocacy for clean air. Every year, close to 342,000 Americans die of lung disease, making it America’s number three killer—responsible for one in seven deaths. Startling facts like these bring us together as a company and as a community to take a stand against this epidemic.
WHEN & WHERE:
The event takes place annually during the last weekend of October. The race starts and finishes at the Radnor Township Building in the heart of the Main Line.
The Radnor Run is a very important fundraiser for the American Lung Association. The money raised helps provide important programs right here in our community. Some of these programs include asthma camp, clean air in schools and smoking prevention/cessation for teens and adults.
