Havertown, Pa. (October 26, 2015) – Last week, volunteers from Nolan Painting, Southeastern Pennsylvania’s largest family-owned residential painting company, helped refurbish a special playground for handicapped children and painted a “home away from home” for organ transplant patients and families.
On Saturday, October 24th, six Nolan Painting professionals helped repaint rooftops and ground level equipment at the Haverford Freedom Playground, 9000 Parkview Drive in Havertown. Freedom Playground is Delaware County’s first “all-accessible” playground and is part of Haverford Township’s Community Park at Haverford Reserve. The park is specially designed for use by handicapped children and adults.
On Thursday and Friday October 22nd and 23rd, Nolan volunteers painted two stairwells at The Gift of Life Family House, 401 Callowhill Street in North Philadelphia. The Gift of Life Family House serves as a “home away from home” for transplant patients and their families by providing temporary, affordable lodging and supportive services to those who travel to Philadelphia for transplant-related care.
According to Kevin Nolan, president of Nolan Painting, volunteerism is a keystone of the company’s mission.
“We support and encourage our employees to volunteer their time and talent to the community,” he said. “We believe that local businesses like ours have an obligation to help advance goodwill causes in the neighborhoods that we serve. The Freedom Playground and The Gift of Life Family House play vital roles in the well-being of the region and we are proud to lend a hand.”
