Nolan Painting Honors MLK Day of Service With a Volunteer Project

Posted by Nolan Painting on January 19, 2016

Havertown, Pa. (January 19, 2016) – In honor of the Martin Luther King Day of Service, Nolan Painting team members volunteered their time and services to paint several rooms at the Family School in West Philadelphia. The school, located at 1741 S. 54th Street, is an integral part of Family Support Services.

Nolan Painting team members, with the help of community volunteers, painted a number of areas of the school, including the reception area, cafeteria, kitchen, vestibule, classrooms and the community room. The paint was donated by Sherwin Williams.

Family School’s mission is to create a multidisciplinary service environment that increases the awareness of families’ needs, strengths, and limitations, by teaching how child development impacts child behavior and teaching parents how to replace harmful behaviors with nurturing ones.

“The Family School is such an important cog in the community. We are proud to lend a hand in brightening both its walls and its spirit,” said Kevin Nolan, Nolan Painting’s founder and president. “The essence of the Martin Luther Day of Service is volunteerism which is also at the heart of our company’s mission.”

The Family School volunteer project is part of Nolan in the Neighborhood, a community initiative supporting local organizations and events throughout the area.

Since its founding in 1979, Nolan Painting has been an active community partner – attending, volunteering and sponsoring road races, concerts, festivals, silent auctions, shows and sporting events throughout the Delaware Valley. In 2015 alone, the company invested approximately $100,000 and upwards of 1000 employee volunteer hours into a variety of community initiatives. Consumers who would like to learn how Nolan in the Neighborhood can support their community efforts, will find information at www.nolanintheneighborhood.com.
