Determining what paint color to paint a particular room is always a top question we receive from clients when we take on a project. One of the colors that is “having a moment” you could say is the color green.

It’s often no surprise that popular colors align with the current national mood. Green offers a sense of calm as it reflects the color of nature and can feel very grounding. It’s also refreshing and suggests the idea of a “rebirth” as we look ahead to 2022.

Green is so popular that Sherwin Williams just announced their “Color of the Year”, which is as you may have guessed – green! Evergreen Fog to be exact. This is a gray-green color that the company’s in-house Director of Color Sue Wadden says symbolizes “growth, rebirth, and joy.”

To give you some paint color inspiration, we’ve gathered our favorite shades of green that are popular among our clients. Most green shades fall into the categories of dark, earthy, sage, or soft. Check out our list of the best green paint colors for your home this fall below:

Austere 6184 (Sherwin Williams): This slightly darker green is great for cabinetry.
