Newtown Square Stucco Exterior Transformation in Sherwin-Williams Black Magic
Stunning Stucco Home Color Transformation in Newtown Square, PA
We recently completed a dramatic exterior painting project on a stucco home in Newtown Square, PA. This project showcases how the right paint color can completely transform a home’s appearance and boost its curb appeal.
A Bold Exterior Color Choice
The homeowners were ready for a significant change and selected Sherwin-Williams Black Magic (SW 6991) for their home’s exterior. While black may seem like a bold choice, it created a sophisticated, modern look that beautifully highlighted the home’s architecture and made a striking statement in the neighborhood.
The transformation was remarkable. What was once a lighter, more traditional exterior now has a rich, contemporary appearance that stands out while maintaining the elegance of the home.
Thorough Exterior Preparation
As with every exterior painting project, proper preparation was essential to achieving a long-lasting finish.
Our team began with our standard exterior preparation process, which included:
- Cleaning the stucco surfaces
- Scraping loose or peeling paint
- Sanding areas as needed to create a smooth surface
- Preparing the home for optimal paint adhesion
Taking the time to properly prepare the exterior helps ensure a durable finish that can withstand Pennsylvania’s changing weather conditions.
Professional Stucco Painting Process
Once preparation was complete, our painters applied the new exterior color using a combination of spray and back-roll techniques.
For most of the stucco surfaces, we used a professional paint sprayer to achieve efficient and consistent coverage. Immediately after spraying, our team rolled the paint into the surface to ensure an even finish and proper penetration into the stucco texture. This method helps create a uniform appearance while maximizing paint performance.
